Our Story

Pride Under The Pines was created out of love for Idyllwild and a sense of Community. Jeremy and Niels are full-time Palm Springs residents and local business owners. Upon one of their visits to Idyllic Idyllwild they fell in love with the Rustic Theatre and met the charming Owners Gail and Graham. 

On a cool autumn night in 2020 the four of them got together at the Rustic Theatre and over quality conversation and after several delicious beers the question was raised ''How Come Idyllwild Does Not Have a Gay Pride Yet?'' - recognizing the LGBTQ-Presence in the town. 

So the idea of Pride Under The Pines was hatched. From the early beginning it was agreed that Pride Under The Pines in Idyllwild should have the feeling of community - love and positivity. We wanted local small businesses to be involved first. 

It has been our main goal to bring awareness, equality and community to ''The Hill'' and show everyone in beautiful Idyllwild that being Gay/Lesbian/Transgender is something to be proud of and to embrace diversity. Especially in a small town. 

Our Inaugural Pride was on October 23rd, 2021 and was attended by well over 800 people! It was a huge success and has shown Idyllwild how important community and love is. The next days local businesses reported extraordinary sales and volume. 

We stick by our promise. The Prides to come, all will feel how a Gay Pride used to feel like. Connected, people sharing memories in a beautiful place with fantastic music, events and filled with laughter and dancing. This is our Promise to YOU.
